Weaving Together the People of God

Disaster Relief

Since we are a Southern Baptist church, we partner with the North American Mission Board (NAMB) in doing Disaster Relief work.  The Southern Baptist Convention is the third largest disaster relief organization in the U.S., falling just behind The Red Cross and The Salvation Army.  We partner with The Red Cross for much of our disaster relief work.  Some of the disasters our church has responded to include:

  • The Tsunami in Asia

  • Hurricane Katrina

  • The Flood in Vernonia

  • Hurricane Ike

There are plenty of opportunities to serve in this area.  Would you like to help prepare meals?  How about remove debris or gut buildings after flooding?  Are good with a chainsaw?  These are just a few of the many ways you can help after disasters strike.  If you have any questions please contact our Disaster Relief team leader/trainer, Dave Hillison, at 503.632.7742 or 503.789.6952.  Or you can call our church office at 503.632.7505.

You may also want to visit the NAMB website www.namb.net/site/c.9qKILUOzEpH/b.224451/  to learn more about how Southern Baptists help with disaster relief all around the world.
